The briefing cycle is a disciplined crisis management activity that if implemented into a crisis team’s DNA, will increase their overall ability to respond to, and manage crises. This disciplined activity is taken from the military. Armies over the centuries have used the briefing cycle to great effect. Although corporate crisis teams are not expected to achieve the same level of discipline, it is important that they try to have a briefing cycle process. Rob touches on the simple steps to help with creating a briefing cycle process as well as the advantages of the briefing cycle.
